Bharatpur Hospital is a tertiary care referral hospital with approximately 12,000 deliveries and 900 NICU admissions in a year. Consulting high risk babies including preterm, asphyxiated and septic cases as a sole Neonatologist. Training pediatricians, house officers and nurses to use high end equipments like non invasive ventilation, conventional and high frequency mechanical ventilator, therapeutic hypothermia and incubator. Performing, educating and supervising various procedures of NICU like central and peripheral arterial and venous lines, exchange transfusion, chest tube insertion, lumbar puncture, intubation etc. Enhancing NICU quality through Point of care Quality Improvements and Point of care Ultrasound. Conducting regular death audits, medical educations, journal clubs, grand rounds and quality improvement projects. Counseling high risks and sickest of babies. NICU lead and coordinator of Fellowship in Neonatology program. Actively involved in neonatal protocol development at national level being secretary of Nepal Pediatric Society, Neonatology chapter.
